WHAT IS CARGO CONTROL A8A

Cargo Control is a bar coded label. It is affixed to a 5 part A8A form.
One label is needed for each part of the form but only 3 parts are scanned by Canada Customs & Revenue Agency CCRA.

CARGO CONTROL A8A – LABELS

Standard format is “Sets of 5” - 5 labels per transaction number.

THERE ARE 3 KEY ELEMENTS TO A CARGO CONTROL A8A LABEL:

1.) Carrier code - this is a 4 digit numeric code that is obtained
by applying to Canada Customs and Revenue Agency CCRA.
2.) Sequential start number - each Cargo Control label set is sequentially
numbered. There is no required number of digits, but 6 to 8 is common.
3.) Customer name - this is an optional field (30 characters).

HOW ARE CARGO CONTROL A8A LABELS SUPPLIED:
The labels are supplied 40 labels on a 8-1/2” x 12-1/4” sheet.
Label size: 3-1/16” x 0.8”
Optionally, you can order A8A labels supplied on a roll.
